Exhibition: The Beatles, Tomorrow
Head down to Shuangjing's Today Art Museum to relive the magic of the '60s with this fun multimedia exhibition on the Beatles. See photography and clippings of the Fab Four, hear their hits, and check out video and artifacts from their shows, including a recreation of their world-renowned Ed Sullivan Show set. National Geographic Exhibition: A New Age of Exploration
Beijing World Art Museum plays host to the history of National Geographic, the world's leading nature magazine, displaying front covers from over their 150-year history. Through the magazine's photos (such as the one pictured at top) and features, explore some of the world's the most remote communities and animals throughout the planet's environments as well as read the stories behind the classic covers.  RMB 80. Art, Culture, and Daily Life in Renaissance Italy
The Renaissance comes to Beijing with a collection of paintings, clothes, and artifacts that encapsulate a snapshot of one of the most transformational movements in Western history. The exhibition features 102 artworks from such distinguished masters as Sandro Botticelli, Tintoretto, Pietro Perugino, and Titian as well as a reproduction of da Vinci's "Vitruvian Man" that allows visitors to adopt the famous pose for photographs (pictured above). Free. Tue-Sun, 9am-5pm. Capital Museum

Spittoon Book Club: 'Northern Girls' Author Sheng Keyi
The Spittoon Book Club once again convenes at Fangjia Hutong's The Great Outdoors, this time to discuss Sheng Keyi's acclaimed novel Northern Girls. Read it before Thursday and chat about what you felt about the book or simply turn up and be treated to insider knowledge courtesy of Sheng, who'll also be in attendance in order to answer questions and discuss her inspiration for the book. Ancient Villages Visit: Chuandixia Village-Double Stone Village-Baiyu Village
This hike by China Travellers will take guests to three ancient Ming villages to offer a glimpse at their long and intriguing histories. Each of them is well-preserved and virtually unchanged since they were built, providing a better understanding of Chinese culture and ancient architecture. RMB 500. 8am-6pm. China Travellers
 

Saturday, Apr 7

Culture Shock by BLK GEN
Join BLK GEN, a Beijing-based edutainment group for a night of spoken word and slam poetry in celebration of National Poetry Month. The night will provide the "opportunity to witness and to experience the rich, wonderful culture, and history of a much-maligned tribe of the global human family," specifically that of the African diaspora.
