Beijing has been recognized as one of China's best cities to find a boyfriend after a Chinese dating website said male residents of the capital are more caring and compassionate than the average Chinese man while also simultaneously bearing more responsibilities.
Beijing boyfriends are said to be among the quickest in China to mend domestic disputes, coming right after those in Shanghai and Shenyang. For this reason, Beijing boyfriends are described as being some of the "most understanding" and "most compassionate" men in China, whereas male partners from Chongqing, Suzhou, and Guangzhou have been criticized for being "overly proud" due to their unwillingness to make up after an argument.
And that's not all. Beijing men are also more accommodating towards their partners in terms of money. Beijing men looking to start a family face the most expensive housing requirements from prospective wives in all of China, followed by those in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The claims come from a survey conducted by Chinese dating site Zhen'ai, which calculated the averages of 6,289 profiles out of its 100 million users.
Beijing men exemplify the willingness of Chinese men who want to smooth over differences with their better halves as soon as possible, represented by 55 percent of men in the survey. It's not explicitly mentioned that these men resolve their differences with their girlfriends by apologizing, but it remains that 28 percent of women in the survey never attempt to conciliate with their boyfriends.

The inequality between genders only intensifies when it comes to money. Despite long-standing Communist dogma that empower the fairer sex with the responsibility of "holding up half the sky," a majority of Chinese women expect their future husbands to earn a higher salary than themselves. Over half of Chinese women expect their husbands to earn twice as much as they do, while nearly a third expect them to earn three times as much.

At the same time, Chinese men agree that it's their responsibility to provide for their girlfriends. Over a third of Chinese believe they should earn twice as much as their spouse, while over two-thirds believe that it is the responsibility of Chinese boyfriends to pay for everything on a date, of which nearly three-quarters of both Chinese men and women believe should be between 1,000 and 2,000 yuan, or a quarter of their monthly salary.
Besides money, the Zhen'ai survey also found that Chinese singles are willing to invest a lot of time into their relationships with four-fifths of Chinese singles admitting they'll spend up to six months chasing a love interest, while three-fifths of Chinese singles say they'll wait up to three years in a relationship to get engaged.

China's 2015 Love and Marriage Survey
The Zhen'ai survey was published ahead of May 20, a date popularly associated as one of China's numerous "Valentine's Days." Referred to as "520," this date is associated with romantic relationships because it resembles the phonetic sound of the Chinese characters for "I love you."
But although Beijing men are valued as a prized catch, the city has seen a strain on its romantic relationship with the average failed marriage clocking in at just five years.
